Students and their families were given the opportunity to discover more about Callywith College courses, facilities and student life at the recent Truro Open Day.

Those attending the Open Day were able to talk to the Truro staff and tutors from all subject areas about the courses to be offered at Callywith College. They were also given the opportunity to meet and find out more from Callywith’s Principal Designate Mark Wardle and to tour the facilities and buildings at Truro College to get a feel for what Callywith College in Bodmin will be like for its first students from north and east Cornwall in September 2017.

Activities and experiences on the day included an interactive theatre production display, getting a glimpse of the Virtual Reality world in the Computing department, and being creative with printmaking sessions in Art & Design, each providing students with an even better understanding of the courses, teaching and facilities that will be available at Callywith College.

Callywith College Principal Designate Mark Wardle said: “We are absolutely delighted with the level of interest in Callywith and the high number of applications. Callywith College will provide outstanding teaching and learning in state of the art facilities and students are clearly excited about the prospect of the Truro College experience closer to where they live. It was great to meet with so many families and prospective learners on Saturday and share what will be on offer in September.”

For those who missed Saturday’s event, Truro College will be holding a number of Open Events including an Open Morning on Saturday 4th March 2017 between 10am-1pm.

Callywith College’s on-site Application Suite is also open every first and third Saturday of each month until May 2017 on these dates. Students and parents / carers can call into the suite between 10am-2pm to talk to staff and get a view of the site from an aerial viewing platform.
