Callywith teaching staff take a look inside

Callywith teaching staff took a look around the Callywith campus this month and stepped inside the classrooms where they will be teaching their very first students in September.

A group of Callywith teaching staff including English, Maths, Health & Social Care and Geology lecturers took a look around the Callywith campus this month and stepped inside the classrooms where they will be teaching their very first students in September.

Callywith English Lecturer Tracey White said: "It was very exciting to finally get on site and see the buildings for real and how they are progressing rather than just seeing photographs. The rooms and spaces are spacious, light and airy with wonderful views and will provide a positive (and calm) environment for both staff and students alike!

"The overall layout of the campus is impressive; I did not think it would be so big! It is easily accessible for all, and I am really looking forward to our Grand Open Event on August 19th as I think there will be a real buzz about the place when parents and students finally get to see the College."

Callywith Maths Lecturer Garry Hitchens who also joined the tour enthused: “Callywith College looks fantastic, and it felt a lot bigger than I was expecting. The pictures of the build look great, but you really do need to visit the site to get a true feel for the scale of the development. The classrooms are large and have a modern feel about them, reminding me of rooms I had lectures in at university. There are some great views of the campus and the countryside from the higher floors. To see all of this for yourself, the best thing to do is come along to our Grand Open Event, where you will also have the opportunity to speak to our very excited teaching staff, all of which can’t wait to get started!”

Teaching staff were also amongst the first to take a look at the fantastic progress made on the 3G sports pitch with the Astroturf now in place.
