We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our dedicated and supportive team at Callywith College. This role is incredibly rewarding and plays a vital part in shaping the experience, confidence and outcomes of some of our most vulnerable students.
No two days are the same, and the impact you make every day is significant.
Role Profile
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting students in lessons, small groups or individually
- Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement in learning
- Helping students access learning materials and specialist equipment
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider support team
- Supporting students during trips, enrichment activities and (occasionally) residentials
- Providing personal care support where required (training provided)
Who we’re looking for
This role would suit:
- Experienced Teaching Assistants or LSAs currently working in schools or colleges
- Career changers or individuals new to the sector who are eager to learn and make a difference
We value attitude, empathy and commitment just as much as experience.
You’ll be:
- Friendly, patient and understanding
- A strong team player with good communication skills
- Flexible and able to adapt to students’ changing needs
- Confident using basic IT and happy to undertake training
- You’ll ideally have English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent). Experience supporting students with additional needs is welcome, but not essential, full training and ongoing support will be provided.
