Jon is Principal at Callywith College, having previously been Assistant Principal responsible for Teaching and Learning and ensuring that the subject specialists delivering the College's courses are given the best possible environment to help students achieve outstanding results. Jon also has experience as Team Leader for Science and leading on the Medics’ Academy at Truro College which has supported hundreds of aspiring doctors, vets and dentists.
Jen is the Assistant Principal for Student Experience. She has led both a highly successful curriculum area and brings a wealth of experience in ensuring students receive the best possible support at the College. Jen ensures all students experience outstanding provision that raises their aspirations, supports them to achieve their full potential and enables them to exceed their expectations.
Allyn is the Assistant Principal for Teaching, Learning and Assessment, ensuring that all students receive the highest quality of teaching and that subject specialists delivering courses are given the best possible environment to help students achieve outstanding results.
Tracey, who was responsible for the implementation and delivery of all A Level English courses offered at Callywith, is the Programme Team Leader for Languages, Art and Media at the College.
Huw is the Programme Team Leader for Humanities and Care. His role is to oversee all teaching as well as learning to facilitate staff to plan and deliver exciting and engaging lessons for all learners. Huw is also able to provide personal and pastoral support for all students within his area of responsibility, including mental health and safeguarding support.
Colin is the Programme Team Leader for Maths, Computing, IT, Games and Workskills at Callywith College. He also has an overview of Exams, Premises, Transport, Respect Officer and Quality Assurance.
Kate, who set-up the chemistry department at Callywith College which includes fantastic facilities, equipment and the latest technology, is the Programme Team Leader for Science and Social Sciences at the College.
Julie, who from 2005, was a Deputy Team Leader at Truro College; with specific responsibility for the sports academy provision as well as teaching on PE and Sport courses, is the Programme Team Leader for Sport and Business at Callywith College.
Tim, who undertook his teacher training (Post-16 PGCE) at Truro College, is involved in the delivery of Level 2 Diploma in Sport, Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and A Level Physical Education at Callywith College. In addition to this, Tim is the Football Academy Coach.
Matt, who is responsible for establishing and delivering A Level Geography and Environmental Science courses at Callywith and was previously a Lecturer in the subjects at Truro College, ensures the courses provided are of the same high quality, allowing students to achieve their best. In addition to his academic role, Matt coordinates the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme.
Garry, who was previously a Lecturer in Mathematics at Truro College, is responsible for the delivery of A Level Maths and Further Maths at Callywith College. Garry brings with him five years of experience teaching at A level and is also involved in organising additional maths-related activities throughout the year including the senior maths challenge in November.
Jamie, who has a background in both teaching music and student support, leads the Student Services department at Callywith College, helping students with a wide variety of issues including housing, finance, bursaries and careers guidance, through to sexual health advice, counselling & mental health support. Jamie is also a member of the college’s Safeguarding team and plays a key role on welfare and disability.
Alex teaches German at Callywith College.
Vince, who previously taught Geology at Truro College, is responsible for establishing and delivering the new linear specification A-Level Geology course at Callywith College.
Kayley-Ann supports staff and students within all aspects of practical science. She is also responsible for all maintenance, ordering and upkeep of science equipment.
Babs was involved in setting up the Biology provision for Callywith College including A Level Biology, the Biology content of the Applied Science National Diploma and the Medics Academy and promoting the Biology Conservation Expedition to Honduras in the summer of 2018.
Lindsey, who was previously a Lecturer in Media at Truro College, runs both the vocational and A Level media qualifications at Callywith College.
Blue studied her PGCE at Truro College teaching National Diploma Photography and then moved onto teaching adult education classes. She taught in Plymouth before moving to London where she worked in a charity teaching adults with severe learning difficulties and disabilities. Blue returned to teaching A Level Photography and Diploma Media courses at Esher College, Surrey before coming back to Cornwall.
Katie, who was previously a Lecturer in Photography at Truro College, has developed a platform for the subject at Callywith, inspiring and empowering students with both photographic skills and knowledge.
Laura, who was previously a lecturer in Spanish at Truro College, teaches A Level Spanish at Callywith and contributes to building a strong and successful languages team.
Adam, who was previously a Photography Lecturer at Penwith College, has developed the new photography department ensuring that all students have an outstanding experience, using first class equipment in a supportive and engaging environment.
Having initially worked as an arts lecturer across several sites in Birmingham, Greg’s current role enables him to work with young gamers who are inspired to create and are curious as to how games are made.
