DofE Gold Award students make great progress and embrace opportunities

Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award (DofE) is now well under way at Callywith College.

Our students are making great progress with mapping skills and orientation. They have now completed classroom sessions and undertaken two moorland walks around Bodmin Moor. They have battled rain and enjoyed the sunshine. More to come over the coming months as they work toward their practise camping sessions at the beginning of the Easter holidays.

DofE students have also embraced the opportunity to take part in their First Aid training certificate. The first group have now completed this and have all passed with ease. Thanks to Callywith Active Lead Julian for making this possible for the students.

In total, there will be 22 DofE students First Aid Trained when the sessions are completed. A huge well done to students for putting themselves forward for the training and gaining skills that will not only benefit themselves, but also others.
