Local College prepares to open doors to prospective students

On Thursday 7 February from 5pm-8pm, Callywith College in Bodmin will open its doors to prospective students and their families at their latest Open Event.

Following the success of the College’s open event in November, which saw hundreds of local people visit Callywith, College staff are preparing for another busy event – especially as applications to start in September 2019 are now at 600.

Principal Mark Wardle is happy to be opening the campus to the public, saying:

“‘Our open events are a great opportunity to come and find out about the college, to see the facilities and most importantly to talk to the staff about the subjects on offer. We are delighted with the number of applications we have received for September 19 but it’s not too late to apply, so if you are considering Callywith College I would encourage you to come along and find out more.”

Visitors will be given the opportunity to speak to the College’s Student Ambassadors about college life and their experiences so far, as well as finding out more about what to expect as a student from the Principal’s talk in the Lecture Theatre at 6:15pm.

Prospective students will also get the chance to tour the campus and the amazing facilities available, taste the fantastic food on offer at the College’s refectory and take part in a variety of activities including virtual reality in the games and computing department.

Applications for September 2019 are filling up fast, with over 600 applications received from students in St Austell, Liskeard, Bude, Bodmin, Callington and Fowey, all eager to secure a place.
