Rosa selected for Royal Academy Young Artists’ Summer Show 2025
A Level Fine Art student Rosa's incredible hypereal drawing has been selected for the prestigious Royal Academy Young Artists' Summer Show 2025 in London.

Now in its seventh year, the Young Artists’ Summer Show is a free, open-submission exhibition for students aged 4–18 studying in the UK. Artworks are judged by a panel of passionate artists and arts professionals, with selected artworks displayed online and on-site at the Royal Academy of Arts from 15th July - 10th August.
More than 23,000 students participated this year thanks to the commitment of teachers, parents and guardians who are championing the role of art in education. Rosa shared: “I’m excited to see my work displayed in the Royal Academy and proud of my achievement. “My aim with my drawing titled ‘Louisa’ was to create a feeling of intimacy and connection; producing something of this scale was something I had never done before. I was simply inspired by the art of detailed photorealism; and although this is something I have practised in the past, I experienced this project quite literally taking over my life and soul for two months.
“This piece was definitely a challenge in terms of the scale and detail of the image. I’m happy with how it turned out in the end, it took around 35-40 hours to complete and I think it is definitely one of the best drawings I have ever done.
“My future plans are to carry on making art music in my gap year, then hopefully go on to study film production at university. My goal is to one day be a cinematographer or director working in the film industry.”
Visitors to the Royal Academy exhibition will also have the opportunity to vote for their favourite artwork in a People’s Choice Award. Voting is open online at www.royalacademy.org.uk
