Soccer scholarship win for Callywith student

A Level student and football player Michael Barton is heading stateside after scoring a soccer scholarship to study at the West Virginia University, USA.

Michael discovered the exciting opportunity to study abroad when attending a Football Academy session at Callywith College. The College invited Future Elite Sports to speak to students about sport scholarship opportunities on offer in America and how they could apply.

Michael has thanked Callywith College for their support, saying:

“I started Callywith College with a plan to study finance, but I never imagined this would be at a university in the USA! I play for the 1st football team at Callywith and at Football Academy I found out that I could apply for a soccer scholarship in America. I’m really excited to fly out this summer.”

The future soccer star will be flying out to America in August to study for a degree in Accountancy and Finance and begin his soccer training.

Callywith College Principal Mark Wardle is thrilled for Michael, saying:

“I am delighted that Michael has been offered this scholarship. He has excelled when representing the college and thoroughly deserves this success. It is such an exciting opportunity for him to pursue his dreams and fulfil his potential and we can’t wait to find out what he achieves next.”
