Students and staff raise awareness for World Mental Health Day

Our wonderful students and staff have been raising awareness for World Mental Health Day on 10th October by wearing yellow for Young Minds charity’s #HelloYellow campaign to show young people that how they feel matters and that they are not alone when struggling with their mental health.

Students also had the opportunity to add their wellbeing advice and messages of support and encouragement to our wellbeing tree. Messages ranged from: “I can be anything I want to be”, “do the best you can”, “thriving, vibing, surviving,” to “bee yourself”, “happy world mental health day” and “kindness to yourself and others”.

Students also set up a stand where students could get their faces or hands painted and paint each other’s.

Staff at Callywith would like to remind students that they are here not only to get students through qualifications, but to help them overcome any personal issues they may be experiencing as a young person.

Students can talk to anyone at Callywith about their mental health, at any time including their lecturers and tutors. Student Services are also available for students to talk to about any issues they are experiencing by emailing studentservices@callywith.ac.uk or calling 01208 224460 or popping in to see the team in T010 in Temple building.

Thank you to all those that took part and donated to Young Minds.
