Level 2 English & Maths with Education & Early Years Pathway

If you are interested in an exciting career in the Early Years sector. Working alongside children, whether it be in an Early Years provider or Reception class in a Primary School, is a rewarding role and you will develop your skills to provide a safe and stimulating environment which enables children to reach their full potential.

Along with studying GCSE Maths and English you will develop a broad understanding of how children learn and develop, including key stages of development from birth through to early childhood. You will explore how to support children’s play, learning and communication, and how to create safe, inclusive and engaging environments. Topics will include child development, safeguarding and wellbeing, equality and inclusion, and the role of the early years practitioner. You will also begin to develop important practical skills such as observing children, supporting learning activities, and working effectively as part of a team in an educational setting.

You could progress on to Level 3 courses such as T Level Education and Early Years or Health and Social Care. This course also prepares you for careers working with children, including roles in early years settings, primary education support, or apprenticeships in childcare and education. Over time, this could lead to careers such as Early Years Practitioner, Teaching Assistant or Primary School Teacher.

Entry requirements for this course are a minimum of three GCSEs at grade 3, including English and Maths and another subject at grade 4.
