Level 2 English & Maths with Digital Systems & Data Pathway

If you are interested in how technology works and want to develop practical digital and IT skills, this course is a great starting point. You will gain experience working with data, digital systems and networks, helping you to understand how technology is used in the modern world. It is ideal if you want to progress into further study in Computing or IT but need to build your confidence and core skills first.

Along with studying GCSE Maths and English you will develop a broad understanding of digital systems and how they are used in real-world contexts. You will learn how to work with data, including how to clean, interpret and present information clearly. You will explore how computer networks are set up and how systems are protected to keep data secure. You will also develop programming skills by planning, creating and testing simple digital solutions, as well as learning how hardware and software work together to create functioning digital products. Alongside this, you will build essential skills in problem-solving, analysis, planning and communication through practical, work-related tasks.

You could progress on to Level 3 courses such as Digital / IT or other computing-related pathways. This course also supports progression into apprenticeships or entry-level roles in areas such as IT support, digital administration or data handling. Over time, this could lead to careers in areas such as software development, cyber security, data analysis or IT systems management.

Entry requirements for this course are a minimum of three GCSEs at grade 3, including English and Maths and another subject at grade 4.
