Callywith College, rated Ofsted Outstanding, is looking for a proactive and experienced Domestic Services Team Leader to lead our cleaning team and ensure the college remains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all.
Role Profile
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the Domestic Services Team to deliver high-quality cleaning across the college
- Carry out daily cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, polishing, emptying bins)
- Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment
- Assign tasks, check progress, and report issues to the Health, Safety and Compliance Officer
- Train new staff and provide refresher training as needed
- Attend weekly meetings and contribute to continuous improvement
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including COSHH and PPE use
- Support deep cleaning during holidays and assist with moving furniture
What We're Looking For:
- Experience leading or supervising a team
- Strong knowledge of health and safety practices
- Experience in cleaning, ideally in educational or office settings
- High attention to detail, reliability, and initiative
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and work patterns
- Physically able to move equipment and light furniture
- Competent in using powered cleaning equipment
- Basic IT skills (e.g. Word, email)
