Sessional Lecturers in Sociology and Psychology

Due to exceptionally strong student enrolments for the 2026/27 academic year, Callywith College is seeking enthusiastic and talented lecturers to join our successful Social Sciences team on an hourly paid basis.

We are looking for individuals with the knowledge, passion and commitment to inspire the next generation of students studying Sociology and/or Psychology.

As a Sessional Lecturer, you will deliver high-quality teaching, support student progress and contribute to the outstanding learning experience for which Callywith College is known.

About the Role

Role Profile

You will:

• Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons to post-16 students.
• Support students to achieve their academic potential.
• Contribute to assessment, feedback and progress monitoring.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Social Sciences department.
• Promote an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Hours will be agreed according to curriculum requirements and the successful candidate's availability. The college day runs from 9.15 am to 4.25 pm, with teaching taking place during the college's 36-week student year.

About You
We would welcome applications from candidates who have:

• A degree in Sociology, Psychology or a closely related discipline.
• A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one.
• Experience of teaching, training or supporting learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for their subject and the ability to motivate young people.
• A commitment to equality, diversity, safeguarding and student success.
