Fine Art students’ work selected for Sense of Self – The Courtauld exhibition in London

We're delighted that A Level Fine Art students' work has been selected for Sense of Self – The Courtauld exhibition in London

The Sense of Self – The Courtauld exhibition is a national project invited young people aged 14 – 18 to explore Van Gogh’s famous Self Portrait with Bandaged Ear and artwork by contemporary Rachel Jones to find their own moment of artistic inspiration. Students were encouraged to use art historical approaches, looking closely at Van Gogh’s self-portrait and Jones’ artwork, thinking about the use of colour, mark-making, taking inspiration from Art History, and sensory exploration to understand how they might create their own ‘sense of self’ through artwork.

Our students’ artworks now sit proudly within The Courtauld Gallery’s Project Space and online until February 2026, as part of a programme dedicated to widening access to art and art history for thousands of young people across the UK.

We’re incredibly proud of their creativity, hard work and thoughtful responses to the brief - each piece offering a unique and powerful sense of self.
